The HSEAD Teacher Certification Program began in 1952. The goals of the program were elegantly stated in The Decorator in the Fall/Winter 1994/1995 issue.* In 2004, the program requirements were redefined, and the term Accreditation replaced the word Certification.
A full explanation of the requirements for Master Craftsman, and Specialist appears in the HSEAD Standards Manual. Requirements for Teacher Accreditation are detailed in this pdf document.
