Frakturs are associated with German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania, Shenandoah Valley, Va. & West Virginia, Ohio and the Carolinas.  The decorated papers were often Awards of Merit, House Blessings, Marriage & Birth Records and Valentines, Love Knots or Labyrinths.

In this class students will complete a Love Knot fraktur, copied from an original, on antiqued paper.  You will faux grain a 10 x 10 frame for your Love Knot fraktur. The love-knots make great anniversary, engagement or wedding presents.  The techniques that you will learn in this class can be adopted to boxes, framed pictures, ornaments, cards, tags, etc.   I will bring samples, pictures and patterns,  and you will be able to complete several projects.

* Please note that  watercolor paint will be used in this class (clean-up is so easy!)

Lab fee$35  Includes paper, a frame for graining, paints & glaze for grain painting, color photo, tracing, and typed instructions.

A supply list will be sent with class confirmation.
