Students will see a slide show of Rufus Porter walls and
become familiar with his style. A demo will be given of
his techniques. They will then have access to many
photographs of original walls. They will use their own
inspiration to create a Rufus Porter style scene on a 2' x
3' canvas floorcloth.
The class fee of $107 will
cover the cost of one 3' x 4' primed and painted canvas with
edges turned, two stencil brushes, cost of paints and
mediums and enough polyurethane to take home to apply 3
coats after the scene has cured. Stencils may be chosen from
the racks to be used and extra brushes may be borrowed for
use. There will also be 3' x 2' canvases to purchase @
$35, and 4' x 3' at $67.
Everyone please bring a palette knife, palette and any
brushes you may have for water based paint. These may
include latex paint brushes for house painting, (old, ratty,
used and new,) artists' brushes and stencil brushes. I
will have a supply to use and some to purchase.
New paints, brushes and stencils will
be available for purchase. |
