HSEAD Fall Workshop Meeting

September 27-29, 2007   Killington, VT

The Art of Silhouette Painting

Taught by Alexandra Perrot

The art of profile-making was considered a desirable accomplishment.  It was even taught as a genteel pursuit in some fashionable schools.  This Victorian art began before the introduction of photography.  Learn how you can create the look of a cut paper profile without picking up a pair of scissors.  Using a reverse painting technique, the student will paint on glass and back it up with an appropriate background.

This year’s class will introduce how you can “bronze” your silhouette. The teacher will bring many patterns from which to choose.  Students will be able to complete several silhouettes in this workshop.
