Pattern: Silhouette
The “Puffy Sleeve“ artist was quite prolific.   Although the artist has been identified, I regret that I cannot find the given name.   The portraits rendered are charming although not very different one from another.   Mostly they are women with the same swept up hair-do with a comb holding the hair in place. The dresses have been variously red, blue, yellow or black and she holds either a book or a flower.   Hands are a problem for this artist ( and for many people! ) and so one is usually " holding " the article while the other is hidden in the dress.  Most of the silhouettes I have seen by this artist have been in auction magazines and show little or no information of either the sitter or the location.   Their size has been small - usually 5" x 3".
